What the team has to offer
JUST HEAR ME OUT!
The 49ers may be over looked as the best team in the NFL. They may not be as flashy as the Kansas City Chiefs, they don't have a mastermind head coach like the New England Patriots, nor are they as consistent as the Seattle Seahawks, but when was a team that was nearly perfect ever won anything? The 49ers may not be the prettiest team while playing, yet they have one of, if not the most balanced rosters in the game: a top 5 offense and defense is guaranteed to give you the W, and if that's not enough, their kicker Robbie Gould may be the best kicker in the league right now.
Why not other teams then?
Brady, who is on a rapid decline, is bound to retire soon, we don't know for how long Lamar's physicality can keep up with his style of play, Wentz is injury-prone, Brees is showing signs of decline, can Mahomes maintain this level is a question we need to ask ourselves & my Packers don't have an A-grade Wide-Receiver, except for Davante Adams.
Rapid turn-around
In 2017 & 2018, the 49ers combined for 10 wins. In 2019 alone, they won 15 games.
Balance. That's all I have to say. PFF ranked the offense 3rd in the whole league & the defense was ranked 2nd. They scored the 2nd most points per. game (29.9), and they led the league in rushing touchdowns. The defense allowed the 2nd least fewest yards per. game at 281.8, and allowed the least passing yards per. game. They were also Super Bowl runner-ups. Yes, that was all in 1 single season.
Conclusion
It goes without saying, they are the best team on paper, however it is important to consider that football isn't played on paper. They will need to replicate that form in 2020 if they are to challenge for the Super Bowl.
